Dr. Anna is a native of Cabarrus County; however, she has lived in multiple places. She served in the United States Navy right out of high school and was stationed at Pearl Harbor, HI. However, she soon realized her calling was working with animals. She moved back to Cabarrus County and started working towards becoming a veterinarian. She attended UNC Charlotte where she received her bachelor’s degree in Biology and minored in history. During her time at UNCC she volunteered or worked as a technician in veterinary offices to gain hands on experience. She attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical year at Louisiana State University in 2014. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine; however, she has a passion for soft tissue surgery. Dr. Anna currently has a 4 year old pit bull named Daisy that she rescued, as well as a 14 year old Siamese mixed cat named Lula.
Dr. Stephanie is a native South Carolinian who graduated from The University of South Carolina in 1996 and received her DVM from The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. She returned to South Carolina to work in private practice as a small animal veterinarian. After moving slightly north and receiving training at the Humane Alliance Spay Neuter program in Asheville, she has narrowed her focus to surgery at Cabarrus Spay Neuter Clinic. This has proven to be a perfect niche for her in the veterinary profession, and she loves going to work every day. In her off time she runs her household with husband Robert, three daughters, and their perfect goldendoodle, Rudy.
Elizabeth - Practice Manager
Elizabeth joined the spay and neuter team in 2015 and took on the role of practice manager soon after. She started her career in the vet field in 2011 as a receptionist and vet assistant. Elizabeth was married in 2015 to her husband Dillon and they have two very busy little boys named Bentley and Carson. She has a pit bull named Ivory who is the silliest/sleepiest girl you will ever meet and also doubles as the family’s garbage disposal.
Keisha - Lead Veterinary Assistant
Keisha joined the spay and neuter team as the lead veterinary assistant in June 2020. Keisha has been a vet assistant for 11 years and absolutely loves what she does. Although she doesn’t have any pets of her own, Keisha loves all of the patients she treats, and has a soft spot for the elderly cats and dogs. During her off-time, Keisha loves being a new mommy and spending quality time with her daughter.
Cheyenne - Vet Assistant
Cheyenne is originally from north Georgia, where her love of animals first started. When she was young she spent her summers volunteering at the humane society. Once she moved to North Carolina, she was heavily involved in the FFA and 4 H. These organizations led her to discover the Animal Behavior College, where she started her journey as a vet assistant, and in 2020 she began her externship at Cabarrus Spay Neuter Clinic. She is now going back to school to become a Licensed Veterinarian Technician! Cheyenne and her husband, have a house full of love! They have 3 dogs: Oakley, JJ, and River. 2 cats: Gypsie and Hoss. 1 Corn Snake: Yoshi. They also have several Chickens and a Turkey named Timothy!
Cassie - Vet Assistant
Cassie has always been an animal lover. Her childhood house was always full of animal love: birds, dogs, cats, lizards, hamsters etc. She is a Landis native but now resides in Kannapolis with husband Justice. She got her start as a Veterinarian Assistant in 2016, doing her externship for the Animal Behavior College at Cabarrus Spay & Neuter Clinic. Now she is a full time employee at the clinic and loves every minute with the great staff and animals that come through. She lost the animal love of her life in 2016, the family dog "Mookie," and hasn't been able to get another.
Xabrina - Receptionist, Vet Assistant
Xabrina grew up in sunny South Florida and is enjoying her new life in North Carolina. Her love of animals came from a young age with a house full of cats, hamsters, and fish. She began her journey in the veterinary field in 2011 right after receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology at Florida Gulf Coast University. She started with the clinic in May of 2018, and is happy to be part of the Cabarrus Spay Neuter Clinic family where there is never a shortage of laughter and fun. When she isn’t working with all the sweet cats and dogs, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Alex, and their French Bulldog, Prescott.

Dr. Kinney, Director & Chief of Staff
Dr. Kinney grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, just outside D.C. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Comparative Anatomy at Brown University, and then following graduation, spent a year in the field doing research on bat echolocation. She attended VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech, where she earned her DVM license and also met her future husband. They moved to Charlotte following graduation, and Dr. Kinney spent a few years in private practice before pursuing her true passion in surgery and shelter medicine.
Dr. Kinney has completed her training with the Humane Alliance Program for high volume spay neuter. She has performed over 23,000 surgeries!
She enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, and playing the piano. She and her husband have two dogs, two bunnies, and a tank of fish!
